WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the scriptures is the inspired word of God and infallible word of faith, the product of holy men of old who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.(2 Peter 1:20-21)

The New Testament (covenant) is our infallible and unchanging guide in all matters about Christian conduct and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13.)

We believe in One God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Creator of all things, the Godhead, one and co-equal (Deuteronomy 6:4, Philippians 2:6)

We believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit by the Virgin Mary, He lived among men; He was crucified, died, buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven. He presently sits at the right hand of God the father in heaven (John1:1-5, John1:18, John 1:14, Colossians 2:9).

We believe the Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John14:16, John15; 26).

We believe man is a created being in the likeness and image of God but fell through transgression of Adam from where sin came into the world (Romans 3: 10, Romans 3: 23, Romans 5:12)

Jesus Christ the son of God gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God, therefore man can only be saved through the shed blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:14,1 John 3:8).

We believe salvation is the gift of God to man and can only be received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

We believe salvation is necessary for all men to have eternal life (2 Corinthians 7:10, John 3:3-5, 1 John 5:12)

We believe in water baptism by immersion as the symbol of Christian identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Matthew 28:19, Romans6:4, Colossians 2:12, Acts 8:36-39).

We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is distinct from the new birth with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.(Acts 2:1-4, Matthew 3:11, John 14:16-17, Acts1:8, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 19:1-7).

We believe sanctification through the word of God and by the Holy Spirit is a definite and progressive work of grace; we believe in holiness and purity of heart and life (Hebrews 12:4, 1Thessalonians 5:23, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Philippians 3:12-14, 1Corinthians 1:30).

We believe in divine healing through faith in the name of Jesus and it is a privilege of every member of the church today (James 5:14-15, Mark 16:18, Isaiah 53:4- 5 Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24).

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the saved (Acts 1:11, 1Thessalonians 4:16, 17) and the everlasting damnation of the lost who physically dies in his sins without accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour (Hebrews 9:27, Revelations19:20)

We believe in the Christian hope for the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 1; 11, 1Thessalonians 4:16- 17).
